America’s Competitiveness Exchange
The Chicago Federal Executive Board partnered with the University of Illinois Chicago and the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration to facilitate the Third America’s Competitiveness Exchange (ACE). The ACE delegation consisted of 47 authorities, leaders from the private sector and academia from 27 countries of the Americas. During the week, participants visited three States, nine cities and more than forty advanced technology centers, innovation hubs, public-private partnerships, and strategic investments.The visited cities were Minneapolis and Rochester, Minnesota; La Crosse, Gays Mills, Westby and Madison, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Chicago, Illinois.
Chicago NATO Summit
The Chicago FEB Executive Committee coordinated with the Secret Service, FBI, FEMA, and the Chicago Police Department to support Chicago in being the first U.S. city, outside of Washington DC, to host the North Atlantic Trade Organization (NATO). More than 2,000 journalists chronicled the event, highlighting Chicago’s economic vitality, arts and architecture, and it’s spirit.
